75 percent, of the 40 thousand electors, voted “Yes” in the referendum on Greenland’s autonomy, celebrated in 2008. Today they have to figure out how to combine development and tradition, especially in the economical aspect. Greenland has abundant reserves of oil, that can make greenlanders very rich, but its consumption causes global warming, which can be devastating for their way of life.
